Use Fully qualified domain names (FQDN) for Platform Service Controller, vCenter Server and vSphere replication.
When you install Site Recovery Manger, make sure the Platform Services Controller, vCenter Server, and Site Recovery Manager Server are all selected from the protected site or all on the recovery site. Don't mix it.
Obtain the following before you setup Site Recovery Manger
1. Address of Platform service controller at both sites.
2. vCenter Single Sign-On administrator user name and password for both the local and remote sites.
3. Verify the clock settings of the system are synchronized on Platform Services Controller, vCenter Server and Site Recovery Manager Server.
4. Obtain a windows server with minimum requirement shown bellow and administrative rights to install Site Recovery Manager.
Minimum Requirement for Site Recovery Manager Server
Processor: At least two 2.0 GHz or higher Intel or AMD x86 processors. Site Recovery Manager deployments that manage large environment require four 2.0GHz CPUs.
Memory: 2 GB minimum. The memory requirement increases if Site Recovery Manager Manages large environment.
Disk Storage: 5GB Minimum.
5. Site Recovery manger requires a database. SRM can be installed either with embedded vPostgres Database or an external database source like Microsoft SQL or Oracle.
6. To use Site Recovery Manager with vSphere Replication, deploy the appropriate version of vSphere on both of the protected and recovery sites before you install Site Recovery Manager.
